OPEN TO ATTENDEES OF THE SRPC The 30th Annual Rural and Remote Medicine Course.

*Pre-registration is required.

We are thrilled to be offering The Society of Rural Physicians of Canada a free-of-charge practice changing workshop. Scar release is a simple procedure to improve chronic pain and dysfunction. This hands-on workshop will provide a simple quick tool to make a meaningful difference in your patients living with pain.

myoActivation® is a unique system of pain care that encompasses novel approaches to history taking, physical examination, non-pharmaceutical needling treatment, and aftercare.  An essential component to the myoActivation methodology is releasing the myofascial tension inherent in surgical or traumatic scars and associated distortions of soft tissue injury.

This 2-hour workshop reviews the pathophysiology of scars, the mechanisms of tissue activation by cutting tip needles, patient assessment, treatment technique, patient responses to treatment, and aftercare.

A presentation patient will be assessed and treated in real time to illustrate the changes in subjective pain and objective movement.

Through practice exercises in pairs, participants will experience the sensation of treatment and the changes in range of movement from release of scars as well as learn the techniques of scar release. This technique can be immediately integrated into clinical practice.
